First Marriott International property in Bahrain
A
business property, the Marriott Executive Apartments Manama, scheduled to
open in November, will be the first Marriott International branded hotel to
operate in Bahrain. The Bahrain apartment hotel is designed to cater for
extended-stay business travellers and long family holidays. The property,
which is strategically located in Al Fateh/Juffair, financial district and
Bahrain International Airport, boasts 188 one-, two- and three- bedroom
apartments.
UAE
to attract 11.2 million tourists
The UAE is expecting to attract 11.2 million tourists by
2010, indicating the success of considerable efforts made by various
governments, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, to invest into
the growth and development of the hotel and hospitality industry in the
country
Grand opening for Atlantis
Located on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis The Palm is preparing for
its grand opening on September 24. Featuring 17 restaurants and bars as well
as a spa with 27 treatment rooms, guests will have the opportunity to sleep
underwater in the Lost Chambers Suites, featuring views into the Ambassador
Lagoon and its 65,000 marine animals, or stay in one of the 1,373 spacious
guestrooms overlooking Palm Jumeirah with views of the cityscape of Dubai.
Armani Residences to open in Egypt
Emaar Properties PJSC in partnership with Armani S.p.A has
recently announced Armani Residences in Marassi, Emaar's flagship resort
development in Egypt. Designed by fashion icon Giorgio Armani, Armani
Residences, will be the first villa offering under the Armani Residences
collaboration and will be set on the Sidi Abdel Rahman Bay, one of the most
picturesque and historic beaches in the country. The resort-style residences
will feature a combination of stacked villas and three- and four-bedroom
villas, all facing the Mediterranean Sea, and aim to be an integral part of
Marassi, the $1.74 billion master-planned community developed by Emaar Misr,
the wholly-owned country subsidiary of Emaar.
Fairmont announces new Morocco resort
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts recently announced a new property,
Fairmont Marrakech, Morocco, which is slated to open in 2011. The new resort
will join the company’s growing portfolio in Europe, Africa and the Middle
East, including Fairmont Zanzibar in Tanzania, Fairmont Towers in
Heliopolis, Cairo Fairmont Mara Safari Club in Kenya and London’s Savoy
which is set to reopen in 2009 following an extensive renovation. The
190-room Fairmont Marrakech resort will combine a mix of contemporary and
traditional architecture and aim to reflect the authentic expressions of
Morocco.
First Rotana property in Ras Al Khaimah
Rotana, one of the leading hotel chains in the Middle East,
will open its first property, The Cove Rotana Resort, in Ras Al Khaimah in
January 2009. Located at the entrance of the emirate on a water inlet at Arqoob beach, the resort will offer 202 hotel rooms and 73 villas of a one-,
two- or three-bedroom type as part of the integrated complex, with each room
or villa designed with modern day amenities such as multi-channel TV, tea-
and coffee-making facilities, IDD telephone, mini bar and personal in-room
